Student Review: Gone Girl

Gone Girl stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tyler Perry. It is based on the 2012 book, Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn. This movie is about a woman who turns up missing on her anniversary.

The disappearance of the wife, played by Rosamund Pike, causes dangerous events to happen afterwards. The police start to ask questions about the wife, like “Did she have any friends?” or “What was she doing before she disappeared?” The husband, played by Ben Affleck, says he doesn’t know. The police begin to wonder how he doesn’t know anything about her since they are married.

Soon, the police discover that both of them lost their jobs, and have financial troubles and domestic disputes. The police later find a diary that she wrote and realize the wife felt like her husband was going to kill her. Soon after that, everyone begins to think that the husband killed his wife, because she can’t be found. Later, it turns out that the wife was pregnant and everyone freaks out.

Did the husband kill his wife or did someone else? You’ll have to watch it comes out on DVD on January 13, 2015.
