The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks is a romance novel, which I really enjoyed. Although this book had about the same theme as many of the other stories Sparks writes about, I thought it had a different feel than his other novels. Dawson and Amanda are former high school sweethearts reunited 20 years later after being informed that their friend Tuck has passed away. They soon realize that, although things have changed in their lives, their feelings for each other have not.

I could not wait to see the movie and I enjoyed it as well. However, I will always agree that the books are better and you should read the book before seeing the movie in any case. The movie puts a different slant on the book, which I love since it is like seeing a different perspective. I noticed quite a few changes from the book, but I like figuring those changes out. I would definitely recommend reading this romance novel if you are interested in a love story. Sparks did a fantastic job once again.
